Mission Statement

The ABS was founded with the long term goal to help athletes, coaches, referees and administrators achieve their goals and ambitions within sport by using the natural environment of the sand through playing, organising and administrating sports.

The Academy is not restricted to playing just beach sports and has expanded during the winter months to indoor volleyball, the players have competed in South West Grand Prix and Junior Championships as well as the Veterans event.

Since its foundation in 2004 it has grown in strength and numbers to this year reaching almost 100 members across the North Devon Community. This year we have qualified 12 level 1 coaches and 8 Grade IV referees for volleyball.

In a society where we are governed by the growing concern over child protection our aim is to ensure that the Academy is a safe place, to have fun and to learn without prejudice to the best of your ability and to be able to find friends to share the experience of a sport that once played can become addictive for life.
